Melon tea smoothie
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons green tea or another mild tea of your choice
- 250 ml hot water
- 2 cups diced melon (honeydew, watermelon, or cantaloupe, depending on your preference)
- Ice cubes or frozen melon pieces for extra coolness
- A few leaves of fresh mint or basil for a refreshing aroma
- Optional: A dash of lemon or lime juice for extra freshness
- Optional: honey, agave syrup or another sweetener to taste
Preparation:
- Brew the tea by pouring 250 ml of hot water over the tea mixture and letting it steep for about 3-5 minutes. For a more intense taste, you can let the tea steep longer.
- Strain the tea and let it cool. For faster cooling, you can place the tea in the refrigerator or use frozen melon pieces as an ice cube alternative.
- Place the diced melon, cooled tea, ice cubes or frozen melon pieces, fresh mint or basil, and a squeeze of lemon or lime juice in a blender.
- Blend on high until the smoothie is smooth and frothy. Taste and sweeten with honey or another sweetener if necessary.
- Pour the smoothie into glasses and garnish with a mint leaf or a piece of melon.
